Message of the Director

Sinan Alçın

Dear Students and Esteemed Stakeholders,

Graduate School (IKU-GS), which represents the 65-year legacy of Kültür College and the principles and tradition of the Kültür Constitution, is moving forward with confident strides together with you in the effort to foster analytical, critical, and free knowledge production, interdisciplinary cooperation, and contribution to society. On this journey, the role of each and every one of you is of great importance for both our institution's and our country's scientific, technological, and social development.
Graduate education is a significant milestone for personal and professional development. This process is filled with steps that involve not only deepening expertise but also cultivating critical thinking, creativity, and the responsibility to contribute to knowledge. Our Institute adopts as its fundamental mission to guide you, support you, and strengthen your capabilities during this meaningful step.
Our Graduate School (IKU-GS) offers 56 Master's and 15 Doctoral programs to our students as of the 2025-2026 Academic Year. While our programs, with thesis and non-thesis options, build a bridge between professional and academic goals, our doctoral programs develop students' ability to produce original research. Our Graduate School aims to enable our students to achieve the highest academic standards through supports such as research infrastructure, mentorship services, and access to resources. The connections we have established with our international students both enrich cultural diversity and elevate our scientific environment to an international level. Cooperation with public institutions, the private sector, non-governmental organizations, and other actors contributing to societal production processes is an integral part of our institute's vision. Ensuring that knowledge is translated into societal benefit through joint projects, R&D activities, seminars, and applied training is among our primary goals.
In light of these values, the Istanbul Kültür University Graduate School (IKU-GS) continues to offer its students a research-oriented educational environment that contributes to society and supports their academic and professional development. Our Institute will continue to be shaped around the values of academic excellence, international cooperation, social awareness, and scientific impact.
